The Hilarious House of Frightenstein first aired in 1971 on CHCH TV in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and its 130 hour-long episodes were subsequently syndicated across Canada and in major U.S. markets, becoming the longest running kids’ TV show in Canadian history. The original shows are now available to 150 million streaming service subscribers.

The series featured horror icon Vincent Price as its host/interlocutor and Canadian Comedy Hall of Fame inductee Billy Van, who played NINE different characters including Count Frightenstein. The show’s characters including the Count, Igor, the Wolfman, the Professor, Grizelda The Ghastly Gourmet and Super Hippy (played by Markowitz himself) had both kids and late night audiences in stitches from the get-go, and will again in the new comics digest.

The 144-page “Brucie-Sized” Comic Digest will be  available in shops internationally on November 27, 2024 and features a HHOF family cover by Canadian artist 'Ghoulish' Gary Pullin. The comic's 'skit' format will stay true to the original television series. Story interludes include ‘Mitch’s Musings’ - where Markowitz takes us through the making of the original series, complete with pictures, making the digest a true collectible for Frightenstein and comic fans of all ages.

Volume One invites you to join the Count, Igor, Grizelda and all of your other favorites in all new stories including The Night of the Living Brucie! 

After centuries of failure, the good news is that the Count’s monster Brucie has come to life! The bad news is that the Count is now headed for jail for all of the damage Brucie has done!
